UMC Photo/Film Policy
Anyone who would like to take pictures, video tape, interview, or use multimedia in the University Memorial Center (UMC) must complete a request form. Completion of the request form is required for all photo/film inquiries including class projects. Applicants must fill out a form at least 5 business days before the desired filming to allow for approval consideration.
Expectations and requirements for filming:
- You must comply withÌý±«²Ô¾±±¹±ð°ù²õ¾±³Ù²â photo release requirements when people are included.
- Film crews must abide by allÌý±«²Ô¾±±¹±ð°ù²õ¾±³Ù²â andÌý±«²Ñ°ä policies and regulations and must leave UMC premises exactly as found.
- We may require the presence of UMC security or other personnel during filming, and this may be at your own cost.
- We will generally not approve film requests prior to and during final examinations and during high resourced events and activities in the building.
- The UMC may not be held liable for crew or participant safety or for any damage or loss of equipment, materials, supplies, etc. Any activities that may be potentially hazardous or pose a heightened safety risk may require approval through an Event Management Form (EMF) and/or SAFE review.
- Important Note: When required, EMFs must be submitted at least 30 days before an event. Please read throughÌýEvent and Activities Approval Guidance where campus policy explains related requirements.
- Filming with anÌýUnmanned Aircraft System inside the UMC is not permitted.Ìý
Filming is restricted to:
- Public areas (no office spaces or vendor spaces without prior approval) within the UMC.
- Hours when the particular area is open to the public and no other scheduled events are taking place. All filming must be completed and equipment removed from the building at least 30 minutes prior to the posted closing time.
The following are explicitly prohibited:
- No blocking or impeding traffic flow anywhere in the UMC.
- No blocking any facilities, such as elevators, stairs, restrooms, etc.
- No changes to UMC facilities or furnishings (for example, changes to light fixtures, location of furniture, moving of books or shelving).
