Intra-University Transfers
How Changing Majors Affects Tuition
- Please note the following impact and timing if you decide to change your major and degree program. The effective term of your Intra-University Transfer (IUT) is set by the IUT admission cycle dates for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms, as posted on the IUT Dates & Deadlines webpage and the “Expected semester of enrollment” you select on your IUT Application. If your IUT Application is approved for admission, any associated program, major, and tuition changes will be effective at the start of the “Expected semester of enrollment.” Please see the IUT Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) webpage for more information.
- Changes in tuition may result in adjustments to your financial aid, too. Schedule a visit with the Office of Financial Aid to learn more.
- Mandatory student fees will generally not change when you change school or major.
- For more information, please see Tuition Guarantee Groups and Tuition & Fee Rate Sheets.
Costs listed here show tuition, mandatory fees, books and on-campus housing and food, all of which are billed by the university on a semester basis.
A Word Cost of Attendance: Tuition and fees are just one part of the overall cost to attend Boulder. The full cost of attendance for an academic year could include expenses such as on-campus housing and food, books and supplies, and items that are not billed by the university, such as personal expenses, transportation and medical insurance. View more information about the full cost of attendance.
