What is COF

The College Opportunity Fund (COF)Ìýprovides a stipend that pays a portion of tuition for eligible undergraduate students who attend a Colorado public institution or a participating private institution.This stipend does not need to be paid back.Ìý

The stipend is paid to the institution on a per-credit-hour basis at an amount set annually by the General Assembly. Check theÌýÌýfor the current amount. Please visit the Office of the Registrar's College Opportunity Fund webpage for completeÌýinformation.

COF Pays a Portion of Tuition

  • The COF stipend pays a portion of tuition for Colorado resident undergraduate students.
  • When the COF stipend is successfully authorized, you will see a credit on the student's account at the bottom of Account Details under Credit and Payments: "College Opportunity Fund [Fall or Sprg]."
  • Authorize COF before the first payment deadline of the semester to avoidÌýpaying total tuition, late and finance charges.
  • If you choose "Lifetime Authorization," you don't need to authorize COF again while attending ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder.
  • Continuing Education and Extended Studies classes (billed separately from Main Campus) are notÌýeligible for COF.

How to Get COF

Students must complete two steps (see links to full instructions below):

Step 1- Apply:ÌýYou can apply for the College Opportunity Fund as soon as you are thirteen years old and you are a Colorado resident.

Step 2 - Authorize: You will authorize COF the first time you register for classes.
