Boulder Provost Russell Moore announced today that the search for the next dean of the School of Education is live and that he is encouraging candidate nominations and leads.

For this position, I am seeking a dean who will foster a dynamic environment for teaching, research, scholarship and service,” Moore said. “The next dean must be an accomplished leader with a deep understanding of the challenging landscape of public education in Colorado, the mountain west and the United States, and must possess a clear vision for how Boulder can improve that landscape for students, teachers, families and communities.”

Moore added that “critical to this leadership role will be the ability to develop and support a diverse and inclusive environment.”

In November, Moore named Fernando Rosario-Ortiz interim dean of the school, and in March he appointed Katherine Eggert, vice chancellor for academic planning and assessment, to . Since then, he has selected individuals to serve on the committee and has engaged the executive search firm to assist in the national search.

Moore plans to bring finalists to campus in late fall and name a permanent dean of the School of Education in early 2025.
