Our Mission

Creating Solutions for a Just and Sustainable Future

The Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute, or RASEI, is a joint Institute between the University of Colorado Boulder (¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), addressing important, interdisciplinary, and complex challenges associated with the transition to a clean and sustainable energy economy.

While the members of RASEI are spread across the NREL and ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder campuses, we have headquarters located on the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder East Campus in the SEEC Building in Boulder, Colorado. The Front Range fosters a network of academic, National lab and industrial institutions focused on working together to address the causes and impacts of climate change. Central to this challenge is energy, and the transition from finite and polluting carbon-based sources to clean, renewable, and sustainable energy sources. The RASEI community is a collaborative partner in this innovation ecosystem, working together to develop holistic and fair solutions.

We are on the cusp of an exciting clean energy future!

The mission of RASEI is to enable future generations of researchers, educators, and policy makers, to create solutions that meet increasingly demanding global climate, energy, and sustainability challenges. The community is expediting solutions that transform energy by advancing renewable energy science, engineering, and analysis through research, education, and industrial and academic partnerships.

RASEI is facilitating change by cultivating a supportive and inclusive culture that connects members to the diverse activities and staff across ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder and NREL.
