In compliance with the state, ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder has also updated their administrative leave policy to reflect those changes. ÌýÌýÌýThe State Personnel Board is also amending the rule to include these changes for classified staff,
The updates to our current leave policy are the following:Ìý
- Family Support : accrued sick leave can be used to care for a family member whose school or place of care has been closed due to inclement weather, loss of power, loss of heating, loss of water, or any other unexpected occurrence or event that results in the closure of the family member's school or place of care.
- Bereavement Support: use sick leave to grieve, attend funeral services or a memorial, or deal with financial and legal matters that arise after the death of a family member. ÌýThis type of leave is available after an employee has utilized their bereavement leave.
- Evacuation : if an employee needs to evacuate their place of residence due to inclement weather, loss of power, loss of heating, loss of water, or any other unexpected occurrence that results in the need to evacuate the employee’s residence, they may use accrued sick leave.
Please note:
- Bereavement leave guidance is unchanged.
- A supervisor may still require documentation from an employee if consecutive days of paid sick leave are taken.
