The Diversity and Inclusion Training and Development Specialist must be a diversity and inclusive excellence trainer, as well as a design thinker who is able to translate the university's vision, strategic initiatives, and values into employee learning solutions. The individual must be able to communicate ideas clearly through training and presentations and must have both a theoretical and practical understanding of the realm of diversity and inclusion.Ìý

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Design and Implement Employee Learning Programs Focused on Diversity and Inclusive Excellence
  • Create and implement training curricula focused on diversity and inclusive excellence through courses offered by the Department of Human Resources.
  • Partner with others on campus who are engaging in similar efforts to provide a cohesive campus response to diversity and inclusion training.
  • Develop training and presentation materials and conduct training courses for employees.
  • Build and implement a comprehensive evaluation and assessment model to determine the effectiveness of employee development programs.
  • Incorporate and utilize tools and assessment instruments related to the field (i.e. the Intercultural Development Instrument (IDI)).
  • Design courses for open enrollment as well as for intact teams.
  • Develop the capacity of campus supervisors and managers to lead in the areas of diversity and inclusive excellence as well as integrate concepts and tools into training targeted at these populations.

What We Require

  • A Bachelor's degree in education, curriculum and instructional design, organization and employee development, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of direct experience in the field of diversity education.Ìý
  • Experience designing and implementing diversity training, including personal awareness training, leading for diversity, and encouraging inclusion in teams.

What You Will Need

  • Knowledge of diversity and inclusion curriculum.
  • Ability to apply research-based instructional design principals.
  • Ability to integrate principals of adult learning into employee training.Ìý
  • Ability to interact with a broad range of audiences, both for presentations and consulting.
  • Advising and influencing skills.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • A Master's degree in education, curriculum and instructional design, organization and employee development, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience with research, instructional design, presentation, and delivery.Ìý
  • Certified in Intercultural Development Instrument (IDI).

The salary range for this position is $57,000.00-$60,000.00.
