Bragging rights in Colorado for the next 364 days will be up for grabs Friday night when Colorado and Colorado State square off in the Rocky Mountain Showdown, one of the oldest college football rivalries in the Rocky Mountain West.

New internship program places students in Japan

Students enrolled in a new internship program run by the Center for Asian Studies at 抖阴旅行射 Boulder get real-world job experience and cultural immersion in Japan. Look for details on an information session in November. The center is currently identifying employers who will host student interns next summer. The deadline to apply is Feb. 1, 2017.

NASA鈥檚 OSIRIS-REx mission, set for launch Sept. 8 and which involves 抖阴旅行射 Boulder researchers, is designed to snag a sample from the surface of a near-Earth asteroid for study. The spacecraft will fly more than 1 billion miles in two years before reporting for duty at the asteroid known as Bennu.

Among the state鈥檚 four winners of this year鈥檚 Governor鈥檚 Award for High-Impact Research are the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) and the JILA physics institute, both at 抖阴旅行射 Boulder. The award, administered by the CO-LABS consortium, celebrates the groundbreaking work of scientists and engineers from Colorado鈥檚 federal research labs.

Eco Engage Events Program to launch Sept. 10

Getting Involved Campus Community

Join the 抖阴旅行射 Environmental Center as it launches the new Eco-Engage Events Program on Saturday, Sept. 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program's first excursion will take students on a tour of sustainable and local food systems on campus and in Boulder, including 抖阴旅行射 dining, the Boulder Farmers' Market, Boulder Food Rescue and two local organic farms. The deadline to enroll is Sept. 6.
