Four graduating ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder students have choreographed brand-new works for the spring showcase, "Catapult," examining everything from anxiety in modern times to the negative impact of processed food to the male gaze in Renaissance art.

¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Student Government and Center for Student Involvement are hosting an Inauguration Watch Event on Friday, Jan. 20, 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Stop by UMC room 235 in between your classes. Bagels, fruit and coffee will be provided.

¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Presents' 80th-anniversary Artist Series continues with a concert of sizzling, seductive music and dance from Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, experts in traditional Spanish dance. The performance takes place Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium.

January's monthly brown bag event will feature a presentation by Pamela Rosse from the Research & Innovation Office, focusing on the subject of conflicts of interest. The presentation will be held Monday, Jan. 23, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Rec Center.

The Cultural Unity and Engagement Center is excited to announce the second annual Ignite: Yourself, Our Community, Our Future – A Social Justice Retreat for students from Feb. 3 to Feb. 5. The purpose of the retreat is to facilitate students' understanding of diversity and social justice within the context of leadership.

The Bioneers network event Front Range Eco-Social Solutions will return to ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder Feb. 3 and 4. The event, produced by the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Environmental Center, brings together progressive thinkers of the region to address both global and local issues.

The Recreation Center will be offering students free fitness classes Jan. 16 to Jan. 22 and free martial arts and dance classes Jan. 23 to Jan. 28. Several Intramural Sports and Sport Club meetings will be taking place at The Rec during this time, as well.

Laverne Cox, an Emmy-nominated actress best known for her role in the Netflix series "Orange is The New Black," will speak at ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder’s Macky Auditorium on Jan. 25. The speech is co-hosted by the university’s student-run Cultural Events Board and Distinguished Speakers Board.

The Department of Human Resources invites ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder employees in their first 12 to 18 months of employment to participate in the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Discover Series and learn more about the campus values, mission, operations and initiatives.​

A partnership of ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder students, faculty and staff will host a Jan. 25 BuffsUnited event that will support the values of an inclusive campus and the Colorado Creed. The event is free and open to the public.
