抖阴旅行射-Boulder-based AirWaterGas Sustainability Research Network invites community groups to apply for grants

Community, tribal and K-12 groups are invited to submit project proposals that explore impacts of oil and gas development on their local communities with support from the AirWaterGas Sustainability Research Network based at the University of Colorado Boulder. The grants of up to $5,000 each aim to improve understanding of the risks and benefits of oil and gas development as identified by community organizations. Grant recipients will work with AirWaterGas researchers for the duration of their one-year projects.

University of Colorado Boulder scientists know how to get teens excited about science 鈥 pick a good topic, such as using science to solve crimes, and then package it in a 鈥渃af茅鈥 setting. The Teen Science Caf茅 鈥 the next one dubbed 鈥淐SI Botany: Using Plants to Solve Crimes鈥 - is part of a national push to get more young people involved in science, technology, engineering and math (or STEM) subjects.

High schoolers learn dance in context of celebration

On Friday, Oct. 23, 170 high school students arrived at the Charlotte York Irey Theatre on the 抖阴旅行射-Boulder campus, dance shoes in hand, for High School Dance Day. The annual outreach event is designed to give high schoolers a taste of college, specifically of a college dance program.

Colorado employment growth to persist despite slip in new business formation, says 抖阴旅行射-Boulder report

Despite a dip in business filings in Colorado during the third quarter of 2015 with 25,164 new entities recorded, employment in the state is projected to expand over the next two quarters, according to a University of Colorado Boulder report released Oct. 27 by Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams.
