This week brings Research & Innovation Week events, a tea party, a campus tree tour, Halloween hacks, DIY pride flags, an outdoor volunteer opportunity, night sky exploration, the Fall Housing Fair and more.

Research & Innovation Week is a celebration of research and other projects completed at 抖阴旅行射 Boulder. All events are free, but some require registration beforehand.


Monday, Oct. 16

Noon鈥1 p.m.听 Virtual
During this event, the Pride Office is sharing information about what campus life is like for trans students, and how we can create a welcoming environment for them.

2 p.m. UMC, North Dining Room
It鈥檚 tea time! The Center for Student Involvement is serving up free cups of tea in the UMC this Monday.

Are you a Marvel fanatic? The Marvel Movie Club comes together every Monday to watch Marvel movies!听


Tuesday, Oct. 17

Our campus has 60 species of trees. During this tour, Facilities Management Forestry Supervisor Vince Aquino will guide you through the attributes and historical significance of trees across campus.

7:30 p.m. Business Field
All 抖阴旅行射 Boulder students are invited to explore the night sky on the Business Field.

10 a.m.鈥3 p.m. UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom
Do you have a plan for where you want to live next? At the housing fair, students will learn more about finding off-campus housing and will meet with landlords, city offices and vendors.

11 a.m.鈥4 p.m. Virtual
Students from all backgrounds are invited to join this virtual career and internship fair! Grow your network by meeting with possible employers and internship providers.

During Halloween Hacks, experts are here to provide guidance to attendees while they work on Halloween costumes, decorations and more!

It鈥檚 a trivia extravaganza! Jessica L鈥橶hor is hosting a night of pride trivia and drag bingo. Winners will receive Pride Pack prizes.

7 p.m. Fiske Planetarium
Science fiction often contains vivid landscape imagery in its storytelling. During this free presentation, take a journey through the fundamentals of soil and how it relates to science fiction.

8鈥10 p.m. Rec Center, Buff Pool
Say goodbye to the Buff Pool for the season at this Halloween movie night鈥攃omplete with heaters, hot cocoa and candy. Cannonball!听

The Q BBQ Fest is America鈥檚 largest BBQ festival. Top pitmasters from around the country will be bringing their expertise to Boulder. Enjoy live music, BBQ tutorials and demonstrations and other activities.

Learn about black holes, narrated by Liam Neeson. This presentation will explore the power and grace of black holes.

9 a.m.鈥2 p.m. Meet on the UMC south terrace, travel to NCAR Trailhead together
During this community opportunity, volunteers will help those with limited mobility access trails. Teamwork, some physical strength and hiking on uneven trails may be required.
