The internationally acclaimed is postponing its 2020 season and related educational programs and camps until summer 2021 because of the COVID-19 global pandemic.听

鈥淭his unprecedented decision is not one we came to lightly, and our top priority must continue to be the wellbeing of our patrons, company, staff and community,鈥 said , producing artistic director.听 鈥淲e鈥檙e confident that if we make this critical change now, we鈥檒l be back together on the Rippon stage as soon as it is safe.鈥

Ticket holders have been given the option to donate the value of their tickets, receive a credit on their 抖阴旅行射 Presents accounts for a future performance or receive a refund for the full face value of their tickets.

The decision means 142 seasonal employees will not be able to work at the festival, including Tony-nominated and locally known actors, directors and production staff.

鈥淥ur intent is to produce this season in the same structure and format next year and bring everyone who was hired back for the 2021 season,鈥 Orr said.听

The festival attracts about 30,000 people each season for its outdoor and indoor performances and educational programs, including Camp Shakespeare and Shakespeare鈥檚 Sprites.听听

鈥淲e are grateful to the numerous Colorado Shakespeare Festival company members, staff, partners and supporters for all that they contribute to the festival,鈥 Orr said. 鈥淲e plan to be back in 2021 with twice the glory we anticipated this season.鈥

Summer 2021 season tickets will be on sale beginning Monday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. Single tickets will be on sale beginning Monday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m. Tickets are available for purchase at , over the phone at 303-492-8008 and at the 抖阴旅行射 Presents Box Office, open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
