Known as the campus “living room,” thousands of people visit theUniversity Memorial Center (UMC) every day to grab a bite to eat, enjoy free entertainment, shop the retail stores, study with free Wi-Fior just hang out! Here are five things you should know about the UMC.

From the Alferd Packer Restaurant & Grill, named after Colorado’s most famous cannibal, to Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Panda Express and Subway, the UMC hassomething for every taste.Plus, the Alferd Packer Grill accepts meal plans, Campus Cash and Munch Money. Starbucks accepts Campus Cash and Starbucks gift cards, too. Come by and grab a bite!

The UMC has a Wi-Fi lounge

Looking for a study spot that isn’t Norlin or your residence hall? Hit up the Wi-Fi lounge located on the first floor of the UMC in the West Dining Room, next to the Ink Spot. Equipped with computers, printers, monitors and lots of places to plug in your own laptop, the Wi-Fi lounge is a great place to dive deep into your studies.

The Connection is under construction

The Connection is closed for renovation and will be reopening soon. The Connection is Boulder’s own hub for kicking back, relaxing, networking, getting involved and meeting new people. The new space will offer the same great recreation options and amenities—plus a few new ones—in a welcoming and open environment. Give The Connection to learn more about upcoming events and where they will be located.

Students can work in the UMC

As the most active spot on campus, the UMC has an energetic employment community that gives students exceptional leadership and job experience. Also, the is coming up on Jan. 30 from 2 to 5 p.m. right in the UMC. Visit and interact with departments who are hiring student-employees. Network with staff, apply for available jobs and learn more about the variety of student jobs available on campus.
