¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä 8,000 new students and their families will arrive on campus next week, marking the start of Fall Welcome.ÌýThere will be many activities and events between Aug. 20 and Aug. 30 in addition to move-in. These events give students a chance to get acquainted with each other, become familiar with campus resources and feel welcomed and supported in their transition to college life.
Here’s what you need to know to get ready for Fall Welcome:
Parking and traffic
There will be campus parking closures for faculty and staff from Aug. 19 through Aug. 22. Permit holders have received email notification of their permitted lot/zone parking impacts from Parking Services.Ìý
Additionally, Regent Drive will be restricted to vehicles displaying move-in permits from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Monday, Aug. 19, and Thursday, Aug. 22. Main campus pay station and metered lots will be closed during the four-day move-in dates.
Parking lot closures are in effect due to the increased traffic around Boulder during move-in. Faculty and staff are encouraged to plan alternate transportation options to get to campus or, if possible, should take advantage of alternate work arrangements after discussing with their supervisor.
Volunteers needed
Volunteers are essential to the success of Fall Welcome and move-in. The university is in need of enthusiastic volunteers to help move students into their residence halls, provide traffic support and help welcome new students and families to campus.Ìý
. Fall Welcome volunteers may request a volunteer parking access pass to use on campus from Aug. 19–22 only. Volunteers who receive a permit need to be parked by 8 a.m. during move-in days. Carpooling is highly encouraged. More Fall Welcome volunteer and parking information can be found on the Volunteer Resource Center website.
