In the Division of Student Affairs, we see it as our duty to invest in the emotional, physical, social and occupational wellness of our students. Their overall health and wellness is a critical component to their academic success at ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder and beyond.

Over the past year, through our Redefining Student Support initiative, we created Health and Wellness Services by integrating operations and services to better meet holistic student health needs. In working to support the changing needs of our students, we have made a number of positive and innovative changes to our services.

One focus of our health and wellness initiatives has been applying research to practice. We’ve increased our collaboration with ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder faculty to take current research and use it to inform our programs and services, as well as applying research from across the country. As we continue to establish a culture of holistic health and wellness at ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder, we are also partnering with our other University of Colorado campus partners.

After various collaborations and conversations, I am excited to announce this spring we will be hosting the first ever Health and Wellness Summit.

The goal of this summit is to provide a one-stop shop for all campus community members—students, faculty and staff—to learn about the holistic approach to health and wellness and campus resources and support services.

All sessions will have tips and information that attendees will be able to apply to their work and daily routines immediately. The summit will offer tailored tracks for students, faculty and staff with session topics including self-care, stress management, Mental Health First Aid, Supporting Student Resiliency, general health and more.

I’m truly looking forward to bringing our campus community together, and I hope you’ll plan to join us on April 25 for this exciting opportunity to learn and improve the well-being of our campus community.
