This week brings Kick-Off Week at The Rec, a campus sustainability walking tour, nity Fest, Campus Startup Hub open house, Be Involved Fair, party with The Herd at the Buff pool,Center for Student Involvement open house fun,PIPsRewards scavenger hunt,International Coffee Hour and the annual vs. CSU Rocky Mountain Showdown.

Monday, Aug. 27

Kick-Off Week at The Rec

Come try out some of the most popular options at The Rec for free during , Aug. 26 to Sept. 1.Try a group fitness class, go for a climb, or skate with friends. All necessary gear is included for free, including adaptive items.

Did you know Boulder is one of the nation's leading green schools? Learn more on a tour of Main Campus with the Environmental Center. Explore a sampling of LEED green buildings, chemical-free landscapes, pollinator sanctuaries, zero-waste and recycling programs, bike stations, renewable energy andsustainable food; and learn more about the initiatives that are helping achieve its sustainability goals. Meet at UMC 355. Tour begins at 5 p.m. (The tour will be held again Friday, Aug. 31, at the same time and location.)

Join theCenter for Inclusion and Social Changefor nity Fest,4–7 p.m.on the north lawn of theRegent Administrative Center.Stop by to share food and music, and learn how the center can help youand how to get involved through student groups for students of color, international students, LGBTQ+ students, and social justice-themed opportunities on campus.


Tuesday, Aug. 28

Calling all innovators, dreamers and change agents:If you're curious about how to get started solving problems (large or small), and how to make money, find partners and mentors, and get resources while doing it, then stop by and check out the Startup Hub Village Center. The open house runs Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon each day.


Wednesday, Aug. 29

Be Involved Fair

Perhaps the most well-attended networking event of the calendar year, the Be Involved Fair is your annual opportunity to learn about student groups and organizations on campus, find new volunteer possibilitiesand get involved in the Boulder community. There will be tons of tables set up from 2 to 6 p.m. onNorlin Quad, all representing a different group and a new opportunity.There will also be free food and prizes.

Join The Herd the Ralphie pool from 7 to 10 p.m. for food, live music and prizes during the Herd Pool Party. The first 100 attendees will receive a pool partyexclusive gift! Theevent is exclusively for Herd members, but you can sign up at the party. Each Herd member can bring one guest. Please bring your Buff OneCard for entry.


Thursday, Aug. 30

Stop by the Center for Student Involvement,UMC 330, from 3 to 5 p.m. to discover how you can get involved on campus, student organizations you can join and events happening throughout the year! Meet fellow students and CSI staff, sign up to win door prizes and play our giant Plinko game.

Get started as a sustainable Buff by participating in the PIP program.PIPsare "positive impact points" that you can earnfor Earth-and health-friendlybehaviors, whichare tracked and rewarded through an appthat has been customized for Boulder students.(Note: The PIP scavenger hunt was held last week, congratulations to the winners who won a season ski pass to Arapahoe Basin, a $750 PACT Organics Wardrobe makeover, and more today to stay up to date on the trivia contests and scavenger hunts happening later this semester).

International Coffee Hour

Stop by the UMC across from the Alferd Packer Grill, 4–5:30 p.m., to unwind at the end of your first week of school at the semester's first International Coffee Hour. Drop by at the same time each week to drink free coffee, eat free snacksand meet awesome new people.

Don your white for College Colors Day,and get out to support your Buffs football team in arguably the most important game of the season: when we take on our rivals from the north.
