A symbol of the Conference on World Affairs' international scope, each year, student-volunteers raise a host of international flags along Norlin Quad for each country represented among the CWA speakers.

- Each CWA speaker’s flag is represented. This year, there areÌý37 speakers attending from outside of the U.S. representing 25 countries.
- The Conference on World Affairs was originally titled United Nations Week, as it celebratedÌýthe birth of the U.N. The flags lining Norlin Quad during the conference represent the U.N.Ìýand are symbols of the CWA's international scope.
- The flags are organized and raised by CWA student-volunteers.
- ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä borrows the flags for graduation ceremonies, whereÌýthey represent the home countries of each graduate.
