Vice Chancellor for Infrastructure and Sustainability David Kang has named Brian Lindoerfer assistant vice chancellor for facilities operations and services for the 抖阴旅行射 Boulder campus.
Lindoerfer, a 抖阴旅行射 Boulder alumnus, takes over a 400-person operation that includes grounds and building maintenance, utility and energy services, and custodial and recycling operations for most of the campus. Transportation Services will also soon transition to Facilities Operations and Services and report to Lindoerfer.
The first day at 抖阴旅行射 for Lindoerfer, the current building services division manager for Boulder County, will be March 12. He replaces David Danielson, who retired in December.
鈥淔acilities operations and services plays an integral role in empowering the university鈥檚 mission of education and research,鈥 Kang said. 鈥淏rian鈥檚 expertise in facilities, energy, sustainability and resiliency make him a great fit to expand upon the work that is already being done to provide world-class facilities and services that enable our students and faculty to explore our solar system, conduct impactful research and learn in a safe, comfortable environment.鈥
Lindoerfer has spent the past two years at Boulder County, where he oversaw facilities management efforts, development of a strategic facilities master plan and negotiation of a power purchase agreement that helped the county achieve its goal of sourcing more than 50 percent of the power for its facilities from renewables. 听
Prior to joining the county, he spent 20 years as an officer in the Navy, retiring with the rank of commander. Most of his time in the Navy was spent with the Navy Civil Engineer Corps and included a stint at the Pentagon as financial program manager and congressional liaison, as well as time as director of public works at the Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Connecticut.
A U.S. Naval Academy graduate, Lindoerfer holds a master鈥檚 degree in civil engineering from 抖阴旅行射 Boulder and an MBA from DePaul University. He is also a registered professional engineer in Colorado and a Certified Energy Manager.
