Vice Chancellor Frances Draper has named Jon Leslie associate vice chancellor for marketing and content strategy for the Boulder campus. The move aligns Strategic Relations and Communications to advance an integrated approach to its internal and external communications.
“Strategic Relations and Communications is tasked to provide a clear communications strategy and more integrated communications opportunities for units across campus, better common tools for communicators to utilize and increased coordination and generation of content,” said Draper. “Jon has a proven track record in fostering mechanisms for highly productive collaboration and will enable our team to move forward with Chancellor DiStefano’s goals for a collaborative campuswide communications environment.”
Leslie has been with Bouldersince 2004 and has played an integral role in the university’s marketing and strategic communications efforts, including the launch and campuswide rollout of the campus Be Boulderplatform in late 2013. In 2014, he was named assistant vice chancellor for strategic marketingand most recently held the interim role of assistant vice chancellor for campus communications and digital engagement.
Prior to his work at the university, Leslie developed a broad background in communications, branding, and marketing over 10 years in the private sector. He currently works closely on a variety of strategic efforts with units and stakeholders across the campus and serves on several key campus committees, including the Academic Futures Steering Committee, the Provost’s Faculty Communications Committee and the Unified Student Experience Project.
In his new role, Leslie will oversee the Strategic Relations areas responsible for academic communications, campus communications and digital engagement, marketing and creative services and videography.
