¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Student Government Tri-Executive Betsy Sabala hasÌýannounced that she will step down from her position as ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉäSG president of student affairsÌýeffective spring semester 2018. Sabala, who made the announcement during the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉäSG Legislative Council meeting, will travel to Barcelona, Spain, to study abroad duringÌýspring 2018.
"I’m stepping down as a ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Student Government Tri-Executive effective spring semester 2018 to accept a study abroad opportunity next semester that fits in with my academic goals," said Sabala. "I feel honored to have served my fellow Buffs as a ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉäSG Tri-Exec, but I know my colleagues Troy Fossett and Carter Gruba will be able to move forward confidently under a new co-executive governance model. I will continue to serve as a Tri-Exec through the end of this semester and remain committed to effecting positive change on our campus until then. I want to thank everyone who has supported me as a student government leader."
Tri-Executives Troy Fossett, president of internal affairs, and Carter Gruba, president of external affairs will continue to serve as co-executives through the spring 2018 semester. Sabala’s position will not be refilled.
"I am very excited for Betsy and have very much enjoyed working with her while she has been here. We will move forward as plannedÌýand continue serving our student body to the best of our abilities," said Fossett.
"We have thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to work with Betsy this semester, and we are incredibly excited for her moving into this next stage of her academic career," Gruba said. "We will continue the amazing work that her and the team have accomplished this semester. WeÌýwill continue serving the student body to the fullest and ensure that all student needs are taken care of. We are very excited for what's in store for Betsy and student government this upcoming semester."
