Boulder Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business Strategy Carla L. Ho-a has announced the appointment of Madeline A. Sembrat as assistant vice chancellor for , effective Aug.1.

Sembrat joins the Boulder community with over 25 years’ experience within the University of Colorado system, serving as a supervisory and staff auditor for the system, a senior budget analyst at Denver and Anschutz Medical Campus Budget Office and most recently as the director of finance within the School of Medicine at Anschutz.

Sembrat will transition between her role at Anschutz and Boulder during the month of August and will assume her full-time role at Boulder beginning Sept. 1.

Through her prior positions, Sembrat collaborated and liaised with various departments and leadership, enhanced transparency of financial statusesand developed short- and long-range fiscal benchmarks, plans and projects, both at the college and campus level. Sembrat also brings experience in developing, evaluating and recommending cost saving and revenue enhancing strategies, tracking and evaluating spending trends, and developing and adjusting budgets.

Through her background within the system, Sembrat has become a power user of the university’s financial and human resource systems, as well as the Central Information Warehouse (CIW).

“Madeline brings a wealth of experience engaging with stakeholders to find creative solutions. I look forward to having her as part of our Finance and Business Strategy team and strengthening our partnerships across campus,” said Ho-a.
