Faculty and staff interested in applying for a 2017–18 Ìýare invited to attend an informational session to find out about award criteria and how to apply.
The is hosting a brown bag onÌýApril 4 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the University Memorial Center (UMC), rooms 384 to 386. Refreshments and dessert will be served.
The outreach awards fund projects that connect faculty-led research, teaching and creative work with public needs and interests. The online submission form is now open and proposals are due April 17 by 5 p.m.
Individual faculty applicants may request up to $9,000 for each project; interdisciplinary or interdepartmental faculty groups may request up to $24,000 for a single, collaborative outreach project.
Applicants are encouraged to review guidelines prior to applying and bring any questions to the informational session.
The , comprised of faculty and staff from multiple academic disciplines, oversees the award process. Last year the committee awarded funds to 42 individual and interdisciplinary outreach and engagement projects that served communities, K-12 constituents and citizens with limited access to university programs.
Since 1999, the committee has selected nearly 700 projects and awarded more than $4.5 million. These awards are funded through the , and the .
as the ways faculty, staff and students collaborate with external groups in mutually beneficial partnerships that are grounded in scholarship and consistent with the role and mission of a comprehensive, public research university.
