“Do you get summers off?â€
How many times have you been asked that question when you tell someone you work for a university? I always laugh and reply, “Wouldn’t that be great?â€
The truth is, it takes a lot of year-round work to make the university run, and while our halls may be quieter and the parking lots a bit emptier, our work at ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder certainly doesn’t go away when we’re not in full academic session. As a preeminent research university, our labs and facilities are pushing the boundaries of discovery around the clock, and innovation doesn’t necessarily recognize spring break or summer holidays.
These quieter times are also when so many of our campus professionals implement upgrades, schedule repairs and launch new systems. All across our campus, dedicated employees are deep cleaning, building websites, testing code and building out the infrastructure that keeps the lights on, the buildings beautiful and so much more.
I’d like to extend my sincere appreciation to every single one of you for the work that you’re doing right now. The university is better for it.
Happy Holidays,
Kelly Fox,
Senior Vice Chancellor and CFO
