The University of Colorado Boulder’s 68th annual Conference on World Affairs, a week of ideas and discussion on every topic imaginable, kicks off Monday.
Among the day’s events are a noon plenary address by Robert Inglis on how free enterprise can solve climate change and the colorful flag procession at 6:30 p.m. on the Norlin Quadrangle.
This year’s conference features 200 diverse panels, plenaries and performances. Student and community volunteers assembled the thought-provoking program, inviting speakers from around the world to this year’s event.
All CWA sessions are free and open to the public.
One event sure to be a highlight is the keynote address delivered by alumnus and Apple, Inc., co-founder Steve Wozniak slated for 7 p.m. Monday. Wozniak’s talk is the result of a collaboration between the Cultural Events Board and the CWA Student Volunteer Group. The event is presently at capacity and no more tickets are available.
Arts on the Green
The CWA has also partnered with several other campus divisions to host concurrent events featuring campus programs. On Wednesday, April 6, the buildings surrounding Norlin Quad will be transformed into artistic backdrops for Arts on the Green, an event showcasing students and faculty in art, film, theater, dance and music, to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
CWA@Night
This year also marks the first year for CWA@Night, an array of sessions taking place in the evening in response to requests from students and the community in years past for sessions that are available after traditional business hours. See the full schedule online for all CWA@Night events:.
CWA app
CWA also recently announced the launch of its first ever event app to help conference-goers build their own schedule, view speaker bios, access maps and rate panels. To download the app, visit the App Store or Google Play store and download the “Crowd Compass Directory” app, then search for the Conference on World Affairs.
