Recruiting and retaining good employees in Colorado's economic boom has proven a challenge for many business managers.
But ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä-Boulder management Professors Joe Rosse and Bob Levin, director of the Center for Human Function and Work, have ways of easing the pain.
Rosse and Levin, authors of "High Impact Hiring: A Comprehensive Guide to Performance-Based Hiring," will give a seminar at the Boulder Public Library at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7, as part of Chancellor Richard L. Byyny's lecture series.
The Chancellor's Business Community Lecture Series is free and open to the public and includes refreshments and a reception with Chancellor Byyny beginning at 7 p.m.
"Our faculty are conducting cutting-edge research on some of the challenges facing today's businesses. We're pleased to bring this expertise into the community," Byyny said.
The seminar will help managers make better personnel-related decisions and cover today’s hot topics – employee integrity testing, backgrounding and assessing counterproductive behavior. The program also gives managers proven frameworks for interviewing, assessing job performance and hiring.
"High Impact Hiring " teaches managers to stop making "crisis hires" and instead to prepare for the future. It shows employers how to recruit and retain good employees and details a simple way for managers to update job descriptions.
Rosse and Levin have extensive experience in hiring and have developed hiring systems for Coors, Kaiser Permanente, General Tire & Rubber and one of the nationÂ’s largest ski areas.
