Growth, responsible development and transportation issues are among the topics to be discussed at a conference sponsored by the University of Colorado at BoulderÂ’s Real Estate Center.

More than 350 real estate and development professionals are expected to attend the conference on Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Denver.

The theme of the conference, “Are you headed in the right direction?” will challenge participants to explore the future of their businesses and their industry.

Several speakers and sessions will be presented:

• Richard Heapes of Cooper Carry & Associates will start the day by dispelling urban development myths and will later unveil a model for development that works.

• Will Fleissig of the Real Estate Center and John Parr, a member of the Center for Neighborhood and Regional Action, will discuss implementation of the Vision 2020 plan adopted by the Denver Regional Council of Governments in response to urban sprawl.

• Floyd Ciruli of Ciruli Associates will discuss upcoming transportation ballot issues.

The Real Estate Center opened in 1996 and strives to be a model for how higher education and industry can serve each other. Real estate professionals and ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä alumni have donated resources to educate future industry leaders, and the conference serves as a forum for its members to discuss local and national real estate and development issues.

“Our annual conference gives the Center an opportunity to be the cayalyst for energetic dialogue on topics germane to our industry,” said Director Byron Koste.
