Mark Anderson, student library technician for the government publications library, has been selected as the University of Colorado at BoulderÂ’s Student Employee of the Year.

Anderson received a plaque and a $50 award April 9 from Ron Stump, dean of students, at a ceremony in the library.

Forty eight nominations were received this year, the first time the award has been given. All nominees received a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their efforts.

AndersonÂ’s nomination has been forwarded to the Western Association of Student Employment Administrators (WASEA) for state and regional competitions.

Anderson, of Montrose, will graduate this month with a bachelorÂ’s degree in biology. He plans to pursue a graduate degree in Spanish literature.

Pat McClure of the government publications library in Norlin Library said, “Mark is unfailingly helpful, resourceful, energetic, organized, intelligent, cheerful and dedicated, and no one who has ever asked for his assistance has gone away unsatisfied.”

The ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä-Boulder student employment office initiated the Student Employee of the Year Award to recognize and honor student employeesÂ’ contributions to the campus community. Students can be nominated by faculty, staff or other students. Eligible students must complete six months of part-time employment and be enrolled in a degree program.
