Changes to fall 2025 new student move-in

The revised academic calendar goes into effect for the fall 2025 semester. With these revisions, new student move-in and Fall Welcome dates are also changing.ÌýÌý
For fall 2025, new student move-in will occur Friday, Aug. 15 through Tuesday, Aug. 19. During this time, nearly 8,000 new students and their families will arrive on campus, marking the start of Fall Welcome and the new academic year.Ìý
Here’s what faculty and staff need to know to prepare.ÌýÌý
Parking and trafficÌýÌý
Faculty and staff may experience parking restrictions on Friday, Aug. 15 and Saturday, Aug. 16 in the parking lots near residence halls.Ìý Significant on-campus parking and traffic disruptions should be expected from Sunday, Aug. 17 through Tuesday, Aug. 19.ÌýÌý
Campus event planners should consider the impacts on guests if events are hosted Aug. 15-19.Ìý
Volunteer opportunitiesÌýÌý
Volunteers are essential to the success of Fall Welcome and move-in. The university needs enthusiastic volunteers to help welcome new students and families to campus, with a heightened need for volunteers anticipated for Sunday, Aug. 17.ÌýÌý
Volunteer opportunities will be shared in spring 2025. Supervisors are encouraged to incorporate this opportunity into their fall schedules.Ìý
Find supportÌýÌý
It may seem early, but planning for Fall Welcome 2025 is underway. Campus departments are invited to plan and submit programs, events and opportunities to be included in the Fall Welcome schedule.ÌýÌý
Faculty and staff can contact New Student & Family Programs (NSFP) for support with Fall Welcome planning. NSFP staff can meet with you to share recommendations, answer questions and help with other details, such as finding space on campus for your event or program.ÌýÌýÌý
