Coats for Colorado - Donate today!
Alan Slinkard gets around quite a bit in his role as a Facilities Management Project Specialist. By talking to his numerous staff connections in the Stadium Trade shops, Alan collected fifty coats within a matter of days. “We can do better than that,” he said, as he informed us of his overall goal of collecting one hundred coats to distribute to needy Coloradans, adding “Let’s keep the momentum going!”
When eight-year-old Lettie Portner learned from her mom, Nancy, that the Boulder Staff Council was conducting a coat drive, Lettie wanted to make sure two of her coats found a new home keeping someone her age and size warm. As Lettie put it, “I just want to make sure these coats go to a girl.” Way to go Lettie, you are an inspiration to us all!
Get inspired! Find a coat (or several) you haven’t worn for a while, find one of the many bins located across campus, and share the gift of warmth with someone this season. The drive runs through November 30th.
