The deadline to submit a Summer 2021 residency petition is 5 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021.

Students attempting to submit a paper petition outside of our posted front desk hours should do so either electronically or by mail (see the form for instructions).

Students submitting an online petition may continue to do so until the deadline.

The deadline to submit a Spring 2021 residency petition is 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020.

Please note that when our front desk is closed (see above), students submitting a paper petition must do so either electronically or by mail (see instructions on PDF form).

Students submitting an online adult or parent petition may continue to do so without interruption until the deadline.

The Office of the Registrar's tuition classification team will begin accepting Summer and Fall 2020 residency petitions on Monday, March 2, one month earlier than previously published.

This change should allow for earlier completion of residency decisions for incoming students as they make their admission decisions. We will continue to require all supporting documents, including copies of their 2019 state and federal income tax returns.

The tuition classification team is no longer offering in-person TC 101 or 501 sessions. Instead, students should complete the online Skillsoft course or, if they can't access Skillsoft, email tuitclass@colorado.edu for their next steps.

To access a course, students should follow the instructions on the adult residency, parent residency or emancipation residency webpage.
