Record Change: We're Retroactively Approving Your Grade Replacement Request (Targeted Message)

Who Received This Email?
We sent this email at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, to students whose grade replacement request was initially denied, but who were newly eligible for grade replacement under the temporary policy adjustment announced on Feb. 22.

Dear [first],

According to our records, you submitted the following grade replacement request(s) and were denied for no other reason than you would have exceeded your total grade replacement credit limit.

Most recent prior attempt: [Semester]
Grade replacement request submitted: [Semester]

As the provost announced earlier this week, a temporary policy adjustment is now in effect that allows students who earned a low grade in a course taken between Spring 2020 and Summer 2021 to retake that course for grade replacement without it counting against their total grade replacement credit limit.

What Happens Next

Unless you ask us not to (see below), we will re-review the grade replacement request(s) above in the coming days.

If you're newly eligible for grade replacement for the above course(s) due to this policy change, we will retroactively approve your initial request(s). If approved, you'll receive a confirmation email and your previous grade will be replaced with the grade from your latest attempt in your cumulative GPA and credit totals.

If you do not want us to retroactively apply grade replacement to the above course(s), reply to this email by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24. If we do not apply grade replacement, the grade and credits you earned in all attempts of the course will continue to be included in your cumulative GPA and credit totals.

If you have questions about your specific situation that aren't addressed here or on our grade replacement page, email us at registrar@colorado.edu.
