The second man tried to walk away with the first man’s rolling suitcase. The first man tried to stop him and a fight ensued. The first man then packed up his equipment and left the area.</p> <p>During the fight, the second man dropped his phone. When officers arrived, they found a man, matching the description of the suspect sitting outside of the building. This person, Ryan Alfred Johnson (DOB 12/14/1978), is alleged to have&nbsp;broken into the building, set a small fire, and caused damage&nbsp;to a fire sprinkler head.&nbsp;</p> <p>While speaking with him, Johnson&nbsp;started to walk away from officers. He did not comply with officer's&nbsp;directions to remain at the scene and resisted officers when they attempted to detain him. At one point,&nbsp;one of the officers used their conducted electrical device (commonly known as a TASER) to prevent injury to themselves and control the suspect.</p> <p>A short time later, Johnson then began to have an unknown medical issue. He was transported to Boulder Community Hospital by American Medical Response (AMR). Drugs and alcohol are thought to have been involved. Johnson was arrested after being released from the hospital and booked into the Boulder County Jail.</p> <p>Damage to Sewall Hall is estimated to be around $20,000. The damage did not involve any of the student living areas.</p></div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <h2> <div class="paragraph paragraph--type--ucb-related-articles-block paragraph--view-mode--default"> <div>Off</div> </div> </h2> <div>Traditional</div> <div>0</div> <div>On</div> <div>White</div> Sat, 11 Aug 2018 06:00:00 +0000 Anonymous 217 at /police
