Many police departments across the country have recognized a need for better relationships and communication between their department and several underrepresented groups. The 抖阴旅行射 Boulder Police Department is no different. This past fall, we identified several officers and civilian employees as liaisons to the Pride Office within the 抖阴旅行射 Boulder Center for Inclusion and Social Change.

鈥淲e at the Pride Office are excited to be working with liaisons from 抖阴旅行射PD and have already had some very fruitful discussions. The aim of this program is to create strong working relationships with the police department, its officers and other safety officers on campus,鈥 said Dr. Morgan Seamont, Director of the Pride Office.

鈥淲e have been working for more than a year to improve our relationship with the LGBTQ community,鈥 said 抖阴旅行射PD Police Chief Doreen Jokerst. 鈥淲e look forward to continuing to work with the Pride Center to create a strong relationship of mutual trust.鈥

In the past year, 抖阴旅行射PD hosted booths at both Denver and Boulder Pride and started the liaison program. This past February, Seamont and his staff provided a training to all of 抖阴旅行射PD鈥檚 supervisors.

鈥淣ow, as has happened in the past, we see the need for working together to ensure that the best practices are being undertaken to ensure fair treatment, inclusive procedures and safety for our community in addition to true allyship," said Seamont.
