¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Linguistics alum Vicky T. Lai will be joining the faculty of the University of Arizona as assistant professor of Psychology and the Cognitive Science in fall 2016. Dr. Lai received her joint Ph.D. in 2009 in Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. She then conducted postdoctoral research in the Neurobiology of Language department at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics and in the "Language, Concepts, and the Brain" laboratory at the McCausland Center for Brain Imaging, Department of Psychology, University of South Carolina. Dr. Lai's research uses behavioral (pointing, reaction times) and neuroscience (EEG, fMRI) methods to study figurative language, language and thought, and language and emotion.
