What inspired you to pursue a law degree?Ìý
LG: I decided to pursue a law degree to gain the knowledge and skills I will need to effectively advocate for future clients and community members.Ìý
Further, I wish to set an example for my children. I want them to see their father continuing to set and reach his goals.Ìý
What are your hobbies outside of work and school?Ìý
LG: I enjoy watching and coaching football. A few years ago, I coached at my alma-mater, Boulder High School, and helped coach my team to the state championship game. Ìý
My other hobbies include reading, fishing and taking walks with my family.Ìý
What is your educational background and/or what was your career before deciding to come to law school?Ìý
LG: I obtained my bachelor's degree from ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä. Thereafter, I worked for a solo practitioner in Los Angeles that focused on mass tort product liability cases. I moved back to Colorado during COVID and began working as a paralegal on legal malpractice and personal injury cases at Ogborn Mihm in Denver.ÌýÌý
Recently, I had the opportunity to represent an initiative that sought the removal of cap limits in catastrophic injury and wrongful death suits. Earlier this year, HB24-1472, which increases the cap on damages, was signed and will come into effect in 2025. It was a great experience, and I was happy to be part of positive change in Colorado.Ìý
Why did you choose Colorado law?Ìý
LG: I enjoyed visiting the law school and sitting in on a few lectures. I felt I belonged at Colorado Law, which I attribute to the school’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Also, "Once a Buff, always a Buff". Ìý
What are you most looking forward to this upcoming academic year?Ìý
LG: I am most looking forward to the intellectual challenge that lies ahead. I am also excited to meet my classmates and to be back on campus.Ìý
