Due to the ongoing issues related to COVID-19, the University of Colorado Law School’s in-person Executive Education courses have been rescheduled for summer 2021. In their place, Colorado Law will offer a virtual, full-day short course and free two-hour webinar on cannabis entrepreneurship and a virtual, full-day short course on compliance in summer 2020.
The Compliance Short Course on June 1, 2020, will train lawyers and other compliance professionals on timely compliance challenges they are likely to face in the coming months and years. Experienced industry experts from a variety of sectors will cover hot topics including data privacy, workplace relations in the #MeToo era, conducting risk assessments, and organizational ethics.
The Cannabis Entrepreneurship Short Course on June 15, 2020, will engage attorneys and entrepreneurs in discussions on the latest issues faced by cannabis entrepreneurs and surrounding industries. Speakers include Christian Sederberg (‘05), founding partner at cannabis law firm Vicente Sederberg LLP; Roy Bingham, co-founder and CEO of cannabis market research firm BDS Analytics; Charles Alovisetti, partner at Vicente Sederberg LLP; and Luke Ortner, senior counsel with the Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service.
The cost for each short course is $100. Both are pending Colorado CLE credits.
Additionally, Colorado Law and the Leeds School of Business will offer a free, two-hour webinar on cannabis entrepreneurship on April 21. This session will bring together cannabis entrepreneurs and leaders for a discussion about the challenges and opportunities facing the industry today.
“While we are disappointed to reschedule our in-person programs, we look forward to sharing virtual versions of our programming this summer,” said Matthew Cushing, director of executive and community learning programs at Colorado Law.
