Courtlyn Carpenter
- M.S. Student
- ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
Courtlyn graduated from the University of Colorado (¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä) with her B.S. in Environmental Engineering in 2018 and the M.S. in Environmental Engineering in Spring 2020. Her Master's research was co-advised by Professor Kasprzyk at ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä and Dr. Kimberly Wickland at the United States Geological Society (USGS). Working in partnership with the USGS, her research focuses on carbon exports from wetlands through the aquatic pathway. Wetlands are substantial contributors to the global carbon budget, but there are significant gaps in our understanding of the role wetlands play in the aquatic carbon cycle. Courtlyn’s research is working to address those gaps. When Courtlyn is not frolicking through wetlands, she enjoys trail running, climbing, petting dogs, and playing cello in a local band.
