F-1 and J-1 Immigration Status and Pass/Fail Grades

The University of Colorado recently announced that restrictions on pass/fail grading will be lifted for the Spring 2020 semester. International students in either F-1 or J-1 status will be able to maintain their F-1/J-1 status if they choose to change the grading option for their classes to pass/fail because pass/fail grades will still count toward the full-time enrollment requirement for SEVIS reporting purposes.

Please review the Pass/Fail FAQ on the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder Coronavirus Update page for more information. If you have any questions about possible academic impacts of changing to pass/fail, please reach out to your academic advisor. If you are a sponsored student, please reach out to your sponsor before changing the grading option to pass/fail.
