Fall seed grant opportunity from RISE IRT

The Resilient Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity research theme in the college has two new seed grant opportunities this fall. The first is a "planning" seed grant with a maximum amount of $10k, to cover partial GRA or post-doc support, faculty course buy-out, and/or travel/workshop costs in preparation for a medium- to large-scale grant application that fits within the objectives of the IRT. The second is REU matching support with a maximum of $2k, to supplement undergraduate research related to the theme. Collaboration for both options across departments and the campus as well as with other universities – especially those in the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä system – is strongly encouraged. Proposals are due Oct. 29 by 5 p.m. and can be submitted online. Interdisciplinary Research Themes in the college are made up of faculty, staff and students. They help researchers coordinate faculty hires, share facilities and use seed funding to leverage work that could provide transformational societal impact. The RISE theme specifically converges the world-class expertise in disaster resilience, sustainable design, and social justice that exists across the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder campus to facilitate a paradigm shift in research and education related to engineering urban resilience.
