Michael Schneider, ICS Graduate Student, Awarded the Ralph J. Slutz Student Excellence Award in Computer Science!
The Ralph J. Slutz Student Excellence Award in Computer Science was established in 2010 through a gift made by one of Dr. Slutz’ former students, Dr. Xiaodong Zhang (MS CompSci ’85, PhD ’89) to annually recognize students in Computer Science who have established a record of academic excellence and/or technical research and innovation. In 2011, he was presented by Dean Rob Davis with the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award, which honors outstanding graduates and friends of the College of Engineering and Applied Science of ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder. Each year we select TWO outstanding CSEN PhD or research MS students to receive the Ralph J. Slutz Student Excellence Award ($1,000 per student) for their outstanding achievements in their academic career and research.Â
Congratulations to CSEN PhD student Michael Schneider for being selected as a recipient of this award this year!
The selection committee recognizes Michael’s outstanding research towards improving our understanding of youth debugging skills and developing innovative tools to support debugging of embedded systems. The committee also acknowledges Michael’s efforts to embed his work into the MakeCode environment for broader impacts and dissemination.
