The 2023-24 performance management cycle for university staff employees runs from July 1, 2023- June 30, 2024. To prepare for this timeframe, please take a look at the action items that are recommended.
Dates & Deadlines
- Final Evaluations: The 2023-2024 Performance Cycle Evaluation will be available from 07/01/2024 to 09/15/2024 for University Staff
- Deadline: Please note the final submission deadline to campus HR is September 15, 2024 for the 2023-2024 Performance cycle.
- 2023-24 Performance goals: Need to be updated before July 1, 2024.
- Next Planning Task: Note that the Performance Planning Task for the next cycle will be available on 07/01/2024 for University Staff.
- 2024-2025 University Staff Performance Planning Task: July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025
Knowledge
- Consider a Self-Evaluation: Supervisors should consider requesting a self-evaluation from their employees. Consider the employees' self-evaluation when completing your assessment of their performance. Please see helpful tips from the HR website regarding how to complete self-evaluations
- Calibration: Calibrate ratings with your unit for the evaluation and the next planning cycle. Please refer to your department HR personnel if your department participates in calibration and to confirm your department specific timelines.
- Prepare in June: By collecting their notes, assessments, reflections, data, evidence of measurement factors, and possible peer reviews to help inform their overall rating assessment or performance and evaluation narrative. This will help supervisors formulate the content for their evaluation narratives and help employees begin to organize and prepare for their self-assessment.

Cornerstone
- Cornerstone Knowledgebase: For the most current Boulder campus performance management program forms and the comprehensive and Cornerstone User Manual, with a quick reference index, visit HR Performance.
- Cornerstone Email Notifications: will be sent from our new subdomain, cornerstone@hr.colorado.edu. It will be labeled “ Boulder Performance.”

Final Evaluation Submission Methods
1) Cornerstone (electronic submission)
- The final performance evaluation can be initiated, reviewed and submitted via the Final Performance Evaluation Task
- Resources to assist are the as well as utilizing the support team by submitting a help ticket to HR Cornerstone Support
2) Manual paper process
- Paper evaluations need to be submitted by campus mail or electronically via DocuSign. Please add Jennifer.E.Myers@colorado.edu and Jane.Slauson@colorado.edu as CC’s to the DocuSign routing to ensure that scores will be uploaded into HCM, and the final evaluation will be uploaded to the employee personnel file
3) UCB Share Drive and Score Spreadsheet Option has been discontinued
