BOLD Center Academic Services

BOLD Academic Services offers a variety of academic and engineering focused opportunities for BOLD Scholarship students and active Student Society members to engage in. One of our highest priorities is serving our BOLD Scholars through an enriched student experience and utilization of our unique Academic Learning Lab. We are driven by our three core learning objectives:

  • Knowledge Acquisition, Integration and Application - Students will obtain a deeper understanding of the subject matter by developing effective study habits, skills, and techniques through one-to-one, peer-to-peer, and group study sessions to improve their academic practice and performance through questioning, reverse teaching, and peer support. Such methods are designed to integrate collaborative and inclusive techniques, prompting persistence and use of academic tools and skill-building.
  • Persistence and Academic Achievement - Students have an opportunity to engage in immediate guidance and problem-solving to support their learning. The BOLD Center offers a collaborative and peer-led learning experience through a mutually beneficial relationship between peers and scholarship cohorts. Our Academic Services engage students in proactive learning opportunities for success, as well as offerings to make academic improvements.
  • Flexibility and Cognitive Complexity - BOLD Academic Services offers a flexible learning modality through in-person appointment & drop-in based services in addition to virtual learning offered 7-days a week during the academic year. Students will experience a diverse learning platform in a student led structure informed by scholars’ spatial preferences, learning pace, and cognitive understanding and recognition.
