New class for engineers as entrepreneurs
Eric Roza
I wanted to help spread the word about a great new class this spring at Boulder.
“Entrepreneurial Leadership for Engineers” (EMEN 4830-Special Topics) is a first-of-its kind class open to undergrads and grad students across the university who are interested in learning from some of the greatest entrepreneurs in Colorado and beyond about how great companies, products, and teams are built.
Our guest speakers have created amazing products that delight millions of customers while creating thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in value for their shareholders. I will also be sharing the lessons I learned personally in leading Datalogix and the Oracle Data Cloud over the last 13 years, while we became the top data and analytics partner to Facebook, Google, Amazon and many other companies, grew sales from 0 to over $500MM, and built a team of over 1,000 engineers, data scientists and other technical folks around the globe right from our HQ in Broomfield.
Most importantly, this class will be highly participatory and immediately relevant to engineers beginning their careers. The lessons we learn will help students in their academic endeavors, in choosing the right career, and in thriving from their first days on the job – even in entry-level roles in big companies.
We have a few spots left in the class, which will be held Mondays from 3-5:30 p.m. beginning Jan 13, and I would be grateful for your help in spreading the word this last week before classes start to folks who might be interested. Let us know at engineering@colorado.edu if you have any questions.
