  • 2020 Scholarship Celebration
    On Oct. 20, around 100 faculty, staff, donors, and students and their families gathered virtually to honor scholarship and fellowship recipients and supporters at the 2020 School of Education Scholarship Celebration. Join us this Thursday, Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. for a special virtual gathering for ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder’s Ed Talks, a series of short, engaging talks inspired by TED Talks that address some of today’s most pressing issues in education.

    Middle school teacher Nick Schuster had one day to return to his school to pack up materials to prepare for teaching remotely, and he knew what he needed to do. Schuster, a Master’s student in the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity program, created a makeshift makerspace at home, where he is using 3D printers to make masks for frontline workers.

    Six ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder alumni and partner teachers received special recognition at the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Men’s basketball Teacher Appreciation Day. Local educators were nominated and honored by ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Athletics and the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder School of Education. Meet them here and learn how they all bring equity into their classrooms.

    Calling all #EdBuffs: enjoy discounted basketball tickets and join us for Teacher Appreciation Day with the Buffs on Thursday, Feb 20. The ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder men's basketball team will take on USC at the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Events Center at 7 p.m.

    At the fall series of the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder's Ed Talks, we learned about leaning into the discomfort of learning, re-humanizing education, and more.   • Alumni Award
    In one of the campus' longest standing traditions, the 90th annual alumni awards ceremony honored extraordinary alumni, including two of the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder School of Education’s outstanding alumni. Dave Aragon is a 2019 recipient of the Robert Stearns Award, honoring faculty and staff for extraordinary achievement, and Jacalyn Colt received the George Norlin Award, one of the university's highest honors acknowledging the devotion to the betterment of society.

    The latest issue of the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder School of Education's magazine, Voices, released this fall explores stories of youth activism, sustainable community partnerships, school leadership and more. A thread runs throughout this issue—the importance and impact of community leadership. In educational settings and throughout our communities, we need strong, humane and dignified leaders more than ever.
