Aly Raisman to speak at ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder Conference on World Affairs

Aly Raisman, US Olympian and author, will serve as the student keynote speaker of the 2018 Conference on World Affairs on Thursday, April 12 in Macky Auditorium at 7 p.m. Doors for the event will open at 6 p.m. The event is presented by the ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder Cultural Events Board and the Conference on World Affairs Student Committee.

Ticket sales for students, faculty and staff will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Apr. 3, at the first-floor event table in the University Memorial Center. ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä Boulder student ($2) and faculty/staff ($10) tickets (maximum of two tickets per person) will be cash-only and require a valid Buff OneCard at time of purchase. Aly Raisman is the two-time team captain of the gold medal winning U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Teams in 2012 and 2016. A leader on and off the floor, Raisman uses her platform to promote positive body image and encourage everyone to be comfortable and confident in their own skin. In her New York Times best-selling memoir – Fierce – she shares the highs and lows of her journey, including her survival of sexual abuse. Raisman continues to share her story to help advocate for sexual abuse survivors and push for systematic changes within the sport of gymnastics.
