抖阴旅行射 Dialogues Faculty Fellowship

The 抖阴旅行射 Dialogues Faculty Fellowship aims to encourage 抖阴旅行射 Boulder faculty (at any rank) to incorporate dialogue principles and practices into their courses by providing resources and support. We intend to sponsor 2-3 Dialogues Faculty Fellows in AY 2023-24 in order to develop the dialogue-based pedagogy of these fellows while also building a cohort of practitioners. The fellowship runs from May 2023 through May 2024. Fellowship applications are due Monday March 10 by 5pm.  See below for application details.

Benefits of the Fellowship

鈼 Resources: Faculty Fellows will receive $2000 for time spent over the whole year, paid out over the summer.

鈼 This can be received one of two ways:

鈻 as supplemental income, in which case it will be distributed as $1420 salary and $580 benefits.

鈻 As faculty development funds, in which case the full $2000 will be held for you by your home department and can be drawn on for faculty development purposes.

鈼 Professional Development: Faculty Fellows will:

鈼 deepen their understanding of the theory and practice of dialogue.

鈼 create plans to incorporate dialogue practices in their course(s).

鈼 improve their ability to teach complex topics in non-polarizing ways.

鈼 Professional Learning Community:

鈼 Faculty Fellows will exchange ideas and share teaching experiences with each other and the 抖阴旅行射 Dialogues Program faculty/staff.

鈼 They will have the opportunity to learn from a previous Dialogues Faculty Fellow as a mentor.

Timeline of Fellowship Deliverables

In advance of starting the fellowship, new Fellows will be paired with a previous Dialogues Faculty Fellow as a 鈥渕entor.鈥 New Fellows are encouraged to meet with their mentor and/or 抖阴旅行射 Dialogues Program staff in April in order to familiarize themselves with the Fellowship

鈼 Revising syllabi, including developing new modules in which dialogues will be used during Fall 2023 or Spring 2024.

鈼 Meet with 抖阴旅行射 Dialogues Program staff once to discuss developing ideas. Fall 2022

Spring 2024

By May 11, 2024

In lieu of a formal report, the Fellows are asked to write an analytical memo or 鈥渘otes from the field鈥 brief/blog for distribution on the 抖阴旅行射 Engage website. The goal of this document is to share with other 抖阴旅行射 faculty some of your learning and experience from integrating dialogue and dialogic practices into your teaching over the fellowship year.

May, 2024

The fellowship ends with some sharing of your experiences as a Fellow with the upcoming cohort of Fellows.  This can take place by attending the outset of the Faculty Fellowship Workshop, scheduled between May 15 and May 31, 2024, or by pre-recording a message.

抖阴旅行射 the 抖阴旅行射 Dialogues Program

The 抖阴旅行射 Dialogues program is housed in 抖阴旅行射 Engage in the School of Education and serves the campus at large by providing facilitated dialogue coaching and dialogue practice for students, staff, and faculty.  The 抖阴旅行射 Dialogues Program is committed to the practice of open dialogue that intentionally focuses on equity, justice, and the inclusion of diverse voices.  In addition to facilitating 60-75 dialogues in 抖阴旅行射 classes across the curriculum each year, we sponsor an annual Faculty Fellowship to support faculty interested in developing dialogue as a pedagogy within their field; we sponsor an undergraduate class on dialogue theory and practice; we provide workshops on dialogue as a pedagogy for faculty, staff, and graduate teaching assistants, and since 2020 we have coordinated a staff-to-staff dialogue project within 抖阴旅行射's Finance and Business Strategy (FBS) unit.
