Professional Development Club provides 97 mock interviews with 19 companies

The Computer Science Graduate Professional Development Club organized its annual technical mock interview event on Friday, October 28th 2022.

One hundred and seventy current graduate students signed up for the mock interview event and each student who came was able to attend three interview sessions. This is an eighty percent increase in the number of students from last year. 23 of the 29 interviewers were represented by alumni who signed up to give back to their alma mater.

"This event would not have been successful without the help of our grad student volunteers, who helped before, after and during the event in spite of their assignment deadlines and class meetings!" said Rajshree Shrestha, senior manager of graduate programs in the department.

The event started with a talk by Mike Colagrosso, senior manager at Google on “Making it to Google and beyond!”. The event also had professor Mike Mozer, Research Scientist at Google Brain interact with our computer science Ph.D. and research-based MS cohort on areas of research and research internships.

The Graduate Professional Development Club has three executives, Sagar Pathare, Sachin Sharma and Nikita Menon who are mentored by Shrestha and professor Tom Yeh. The team also worked to facilitate peer-to-peer mock interviews to give students more experience.
