Sanchez Takes Soccer Reins
After having just two head coaches in the 16 seasons of the women’s soccer program, ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä hired Danny Sanchez, who led Denver’s Metro State to two Division II national titles and has spent the last four years at Wyoming.
Sanchez succeeds Bill Hempen who guided the Buffs to six NCAA tournament appearances but went 4-13-2 in 2011 before resigning.
In a 17-year coaching career, Sanchez’s teams at Wyoming, Metro State and Mesa (Ariz.) Community College have gone a combined 267-60-23. Wyoming went 12-6-4 in 2011 — the best record in school history — and defeated ¶¶ÒõÂÃÐÐÉä 1-0 in Boulder.
