Colleen Campbell, M.A. ( Boulder, Organizational Communication) is an on-campus lecturer and online instructor in the Department of Communication and the Department of Continuing Education.

Her research currently involves communication in the funeral industry, including livestream and virtual reality technologies. Colleen’s graduate thesis introduced “Funeral Planning Communication” as a new concept for communication studies, which involves organizational, health, intercultural, and strategic subfields. This area of study involves the negotiation of relationships in tension. Her work seeks to reveal inequities and inequalities in death care, communicate bioethical and necropolitical issues, and present the communication of grief and death rituals in non-static, fluid contexts. She has presented researchat various conferences, including the International Communication Association (ICA).

As a lecturer and instructor, Colleen’s teaching philosophy is centered on Universal Design and Inclusive Pedagogy principles. All are held on Zoom.
