Beth Bartel(MJour)works as an outreach specialist at UNAVCO, a Boulder-based scientific facility supporting research in natural hazards and other sectors of Earth science. she dabbles in much of what she worked on in the journalism program at --video production, photography, public relations, design, web content, and social media. Her favorite parts of the job are supervising interns, teaching science communication, fostering local, regional, and international partnerships, working at the interface of science and society, promoting diversity, and also trying to drive cultural change through effective communication.

Griselda San Martin (MJour’13) is a Spanish documentary photographer based in New York City. Her project,The Wall, includes a photography series by the same name and a short documentary titled The Other Side, which she produced, directed and edited. The project focuses on Friendship Park, a portion of the U.S./Mexico border between San Diego, California, and Tijuana, Mexico, where families meet through the metal fence that separates the two countries. The photography series is the winner of The FENCE 2018 Juror’s Choice award.

Wisdom Amouzou (Comm) was nationally recognized for his social justice impact in education. In 2015, he co-founded the HadaNõu Collective, an organization that cocreates innovative learning spaces in K–12 schools. He serves as the executive director of Empower Community High School, an innovative high school launching this fall in Aurora, Colorado, that will feature a four-year ethnic studies program, experiential project-based learning and a student-led school model. Wisdom was a 2017 Camelback Ventures Fellow and winner of the 2017 Teach for America Social Innovation Award.

She loves the challenge of forecasting every season in Colorado and is an avid hiker. Bearse is a certified meteorologist after going back to school at Mississippi State University.
